Spiritual Care
Spiritual support for patients and families
Interfaith Spiritual Care and Support
At Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton, we know the value of spiritual care. We understand that being in the hospital can be overwhelming for you and your family.
We offer interfaith care and support as part of the healing process for patients of all faith traditions.
Our certified chaplain:
- Arranges visits from a clergy member of your choosing at any time while you’re a patient in our hospital.
- Provides direct spiritual support to you or your family.
- Serves as a liaison to faith communities of all denominations in the surrounding area and arranges for a visit upon your request.
Interfaith and Catholic Pastoral Care
We work with a collaborative of Roman Catholic parishes who provide daily support to our Catholic patients.
If you are Catholic, you can receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Eucharistic ministers bring communion to Catholic patients three days a week.
Creating an inclusive environment is critical to us. We recognize that many of our patients and their families come from non-Catholic backgrounds. In addition to the above Catholic services, our chaplain or Pastoral Care office can also arrange communion for patients of other faiths.
Non-Denominational Chapel
You, your family and visitors can find a peaceful space in our chapel, designed for all faiths. Located on the ground floor, the chapel is open 24 hours a day.
The space offers a place for quiet time, meditation and prayer.
