This space includes six beds, increasing the number of patients that can be seen in the hospital’s ED, especially patients who need a lower level of care.
“By adding these treatment spaces, we are supporting the recent increase in patients we have seen, including new patients who previously received care at Carney Hospital, while we build our permanent expanded emergency department,” said Rich Fernandez, president, BID Milton. “We are committed to supporting our local communities during this challenging time and making sure our patients receive the care they need.”
Since the closure of Carney Hospital, BID Milton has seen an increase in the number of patients it serves, including in the ED.
“This new space has allowed us to better meet the needs of the new and existing patients we treat,” said Dan Nadworny, DNP, RN, director, Emergency and Critical Care. “That is part of our commitment to this community, to provide exceptional care in a local setting.”
