New Trustees Will Help Guide BID Milton's Mission

Milton, MA – At its Annual Meeting of the Boards on October 23, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton (BID Milton) announced that two new members have joined the hospital’s Board of Trustees: Jim Catudal and Apranta Deka Patel, MD.

The Annual Meeting brought together hospital and community leaders to celebrate BID Milton’s achievements and future direction, including the ongoing expansion of the Emergency Department. The program also featured remarks from Rob Fields, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for Beth Israel Lahey Health, who spoke about technology and innovation in community-based healthcare.

The BID Milton board is made up of dedicated professionals with a wealth of personal and professional experience and a shared commitment to BID Milton's mission.

“We are excited to welcome Jim Catudal and Dr. Apranta Deka Patel to our Board of Trustees,” said Rich Fernandez, President, BID Milton. "Both have extensive professional experience and strong connections to Milton, which will help drive our hospital’s mission to create a healthier community, one person at a time, forward.”

“Our board and our organization thrive when we have experienced, diverse perspectives in the room,” said Anthony Cichello, Chair, BID Milton Board of Trustees. “Jim and Apranta have committed themselves to bettering the lives of residents of Milton and surrounding communities, and I know they will be terrific additions to BID Milton’s board.”

BID Milton also thanks outgoing board members Alexandra Alexopolous, Raj Pathak and Bridget Rice for their service. The Board also took a few moments to recognize and remember Michael Berry, MD, a board member and surgeon, who passed away earlier this year after practicing at BID Milton for 40 years.

In addition to the new Trustees, BID Milton announced new members of the Board of Advisors: Michelle Freeman, Sheila Marcellus, DNP, Eyiuche Okeke, MD, Shahrzad Slater, MD, and Courtney Wehr.
